Abstract

As the authority and future usefulness of the AmericanPharmacopoeia is connected with the manner inwhich this work has been formed; and as the extentof its adoption will probably be commensurate withthat of the sources, from which it has emanated; it isproper to lay before the public an historical accountof its origin, growth, and completion.
