Abstract
Written in 1939 but not published till 1946 because of "paper scarcity". Dasgupta, (not to be confused with the Sanskrit scholar Surendranath Dasgupta) prevails where others have failed. His scholarship has been vetted over the years by many authorities who have declared their debt to him. Dasgupta's chief opus is the identification of Indian spiritual meditation forms and demonstration of their relationship to Tantric Buddhism, to Saivite, Sakta and Vaishnava religious philosophies, and to Bengali literature.
