The Life of the Icelander Jón Ólafsson, Traveller to India

Abstract

Translated from the Icelandic edition of Sigfus Blondal and edited by the translator. The volume covers his life and travels, 1593-1622, in Iceland, England, Denmark, White Sea, Faroes, Spitzbergen, Norway. Continued, with new editors, in Second Series 68. This is a new print-on-demand hardback edition of the volume first published in 1923. Owing to technical constraints it has not been possible to reproduce Wije's View of Copenhagen in 1611 which appeared in the first edition of the work.
